SAVE LIFE INDIA
Save Life India is a service project under the ‘Volunteer for a Better India’ (VBI) initiative of the ‘Art of Living’ organisation. It is led by a volunteer team from Goa. VBI inspires citizens of India to give ‘One Hour to the Nation’ and make community service a way of life.
THE ART OF LIVING
Founded in 1981 by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the Art of Living is an educational and humanitarian movement engaged in stress-management and service initiatives. The organisation operates globally in 152 countries and has touched the lives of over 370 million people. In India, the Art of Living activities are conducted by Vyakti Vikas Kendra India (VVKI). The organisation’s programs are guided by Sri Sri’s philosophy of peace: “Unless we have a stress-free mind and a violence-free society, we cannot achieve world peace.” This movement has spread peace across communities through diverse humanitarian projects, including conflict resolution, child protection, disaster relief, sustainable rural development, empowerment of women, prisoner rehabilitation, education for all and environmental sustainability.
